Frequently Asked Questions

Recognize that you are living in someone’s home while staying at a bed and breakfast. As if you were staying with good friends, you should treat the house with dignity. There are rules to adhere to that were put in place for a reason. Would you borrow a white towel from a friend’s house to remove your make-up? Definitely not! Bed and breakfasts don’t have the budget or staff of a chain hotel, and cleaning a stained towel requires time, and the towel might not be salvageable in some cases. For a bed and breakfast, this is an expense that would cost them time or money to clean or replace the towel. Common decency. However, your host wants you to have a nice time, so don’t be shy about asking questions.

Is it safe to vacation in Grenada?

Grenada is assigned a level-one rating. The US Department of State also notes crime is predominantly opportunistic. Avoiding isolated areas and being aware of your surroundings—the same precautions you should exercise everywhere—are the best strategies.

Also consider that Grenada is safer than some popular US cities. You can confirm this by looking at crime data from New York City, New York, and Los Angeles, California. You should feel just as safe in Grenada as anywhere else.

What is your sustainability policy?

We believe it is our responsibility to help respect and preserve the natural environment. We vigorously support our local economic and social communities by creating a successful, year-round business that employs permanent staff members. We are committed to supporting local suppliers using their products and services whenever possible, therefore helping to sustain a viable economy year-round throughout Grenada.

We want the best Grenada has to offer and take time in choosing partners to work with. We live in a truly global community and well-traveled guests still expect certain foreign items that are not available in Grenada, so we look to work with partners in sourcing the best items from around the globe.

Our ethos at Grenada Airbnb is a fairly simple one: we make sure everything we do, where possible, is positive for our planet. That means being sustainable across the board. We focus on sustainability in all areas, from energy usage, recycling, sourcing, conservation, as well as waste management, and employment.

Water – Being on an island, conserving water is critical to life. We implement many procedures and practices to reduce our water consumption, and we ask all guests to join us in this. We also have our own water purification plant on site, thereby eliminating the need to import potable water.

Carbon-Cutting – Our resort is constantly changing how we can improve on our carbon footprint, and all modifications, updates, and upgrades that we do take into account. We have also implemented a large range of energy efficiency measures in order to reduce our carbon footprint, including using solar energy when possible, employing low energy-burning equipment, and also considering new and innovative measures to reduce carbon emissions.

Community Outreach – Whether it’s organizing litter clean-ups or supporting the local Marine network, working with children in Green education, and taking an active role in the Grenada Hotel Association, we cherish our homeland and take an active role in the community.

We need to ensure that our majestic island and all of its resources are here for future generations to enjoy! Whether it’s training our staff in sustainable policies, providing permanent year-round employment for local residents, or protecting our country’s greatest assets, we are dedicated to preserving Grenada’s beauty.
